My name is Jody Durocher and I am from Canoe Lake Cree First Nation. I have been teaching for 17 years and have a strong background in Early Reading Intervention, Student Services, and classroom experience.
My role is to implement and support the Land, Language, Relationships and Culture foundations within the position which includes:
Being responsible for supporting and training of Literacy Catalysts
Implementation and monitoring of a renewed ELA curriculum in Grades 4-12 within the MLTC First Nation schools
Assist ELA teachers in researching and implementing best practices in the service delivery of the ELA programs
Provide classroom support for the English Language Arts Teachers (Grades 4-12)
Provide professional development to the Meadow Lake First Nation Literacy Catalysts and ELA teachers (Grades 4-12)
